Eric Cantona
Eric Cantona knew football (or Foebel as we say in Holland) is more than just a game. It was war on January 25, 1995. Eric Cantona got sent off, but got provoked by a supporter. Instead of quietly pass by him, he attacked him with a special Kung Fu kick! Never seen before.
Not A Role Model
You may hate or love Eric but for sure Eric Cantona was very consistent in not being a role model. He really set new standards in English football as for quality and especially in the press, for being French in every vein. And although the English said they detested him, secretely they admired him for being this straightforward.
After he kungfu-kicked the supporter, he never showed remorse. He should have kicked him harder, he said. He further added that life is a circus and that he is not a superior teacher telling people how to behave.
Mindfull
Now, Eric, listen to me. Concentrate on the ball, keep your respiration low, breathe in, stomach out. Be mindfull, exclude thoughts about the things that happened first half, and do not think about the next match. Take the initiative, control the ball, and score the goal. Now!”
