The Father of Total Football
In the Netherlands total Football was invented , with Rinus Michels and Johan Cruyff. So they say. In reality Valeriy Lobanovskyi was the inventer, already in 1968. Lobanovskiy was the Father of Things, the Father of Analytics, the man of data/driven football. He tracked every movement, rated and then influenced it. As Lobanovskiy was so humble and modest, not like Michels and Cruyff, he did not preach outloud how the modern game should be played. He stayed humble. `Yes, we have won the league, but so what? Sometimes we played badly. We just got more points than other teams who played worse than us. I can’t accept your praise as there are no grounds for it.`
