THE PACKET
Before football lived on screens, it lived in Panini packets. Every unopened pack was a mystery waiting to be revealed. A superstar, a goalkeeper, a future legend—we discovered the world of football one sticker at a time. We learned national teams, club heroes and tournament stories long before statistics, YouTube highlights and social media existed. For many of us, Panini was our first football encyclopedia.
THE TRADE
The real game started after opening the packet. Doubles were exchanged in schoolyards, on street corners, at football clubs and around kitchen tables. Every collector knew the thrill of finding a missing sticker and the art of negotiating the perfect trade. Some stickers seemed impossible to find, turning them into legends of their own. Completing an album was never a solo achievement—it was teamwork, friendship and persistence.
THE LION
This Orange Lion is made from those memories. Hundreds of Panini stickers come together to form the symbol of Dutch football. It celebrates a generation that knew every squad by heart, traded with passion and shared a love for the beautiful game. From World Cups past to present, every sticker represents a player, a tournament and a story. More than a lion, it is a monument to football’s golden sticker era.
